Our Giro Inglese fabric
Share
I'm going to tell you about a beautiful fabric: the Giro English .
As you know, there are different weaves.
The different weaves
The armor of a fabric is the mode of interweaving the warp and weft threads . This is the basis laid at the time of weaving.
There are three basic armors: canvas, twill and satin.
The Giro Inglese has a plain weave , that is to say a simple weave.
In plain weave , each weft thread passes alternately, in each row, above, then below of each warp thread.
This makes the relatively strong and durable fabric. The fabric not having neither right side nor wrong side.
There particularity of the Giro Inglese is that it is composed of two different chains: one traditionally RIGHT and the other interlaced with the first on the right and left at each frame pass.
I like to illustrate the weaving of the Giro Inglese with a braided.
Indeed, the intertwining of these two chains creates a hexagonal shape. (like in a braid).
Honeycomb
Giro English means "honeycomb" in Italian. And this is not trivial.
As you can see in the photo above, it is a open mesh weaving which allows to create a hole pattern.
This particular weave gives it a high breathability which makes it perfect for the warm season.
In Italy, the Giro Inglese is probably the most used fabric in summer because he is light and very comfortable to wear when it is dry and warm.
In sight, the Giro Inglese is a bright fabric . To the touch, it is delicate and remarkably elastic.
His mesh, very airy , has a porous structure , due to the weaving of the strips of wire , white or colored .
This is what gives it this grainy effect , making it very exclusive.
I will wear them with a woven silk tie to add a slight touch of reflection and thus highlight the rather light color of these two shirts.
Why not also wear them with a square-ended knitted tie. The result would be delicate.
