Many of you do tend to confuse it with denim.

Origin of denim

Denim is a French fabric the term of which is derived from “Serge from Nîmes” .

Originally a basic necessity fabric, denim had a low production cost for the city of Nîmes.

He has since been known as a ultra-resistant fabric And easy to maintain.

The armor refers to the warp thread interlacing method (wire placed lengthwise) and some weft threads (thread placed widthwise) in the material.

Together they form the fabric.

Denim is a fabric with twill weave : robust and slightly thick weave.

Denim fabric

Its warp threads, of color indigo blue intertwine with its white weft threads.

To go into a little more detail about weaving, The interlacing of these two threads is very tight. This is the result of the effect "gap" which is easily visible on denim.

I decided to explore variations of denim: denim jacquard , denim Chambray and denim printed.

Jacquard is a weaving technique which is used to highlight multiple colors. The patterns are not printed on the fabric but woven.

This technique brings... relief pattern and of the nobility to the fabric.

The fabric is therefore reversible.

I also decided to mix chambray with denim.

Chambray, a fabric with plain weave is distinguished from denim, a fabric twill weave.

Chambray has no right or wrong side, while on the right side, denim has a slanted effect.
