Our chambray fabric

It’s a fabric that I really like and you’ll understand why.

Chambray

THE chambray is a cotton canvas moderately heavy and woven with a ecru thread and a colored thread . This weave avoids transparency . Besides, I tend to make the connection with poplin.

Chambray is a little lighter And more textured than poplin however.

When speaking of resemblance, we often confuse the chambray and denim .

Chambray comes from a simple weave canvas (also called plain weave).

As a quick reminder, textiles, which include chambray , are characterized by their armor but also by the number of warp and weft threads.

Armor refers to the mode of interweaving warp and weft threads.

THE weft thread is a wire placed in the width direction. Its opposite is the warp thread arranged in the length. It is the interweaving of these two threads which gives a fabric.

In the case of chambray, the warp threads and the weft threads overlap as simply as possible: the weft thread is above then below the warp threads.

A little anecdote to know.

This overlap is the result of a similar shade on the right side and the reverse side of chambray .

I like to wear chambray because it is a ideal fabric for summer so much by his lightness that by his candy in contact with the skin. It very often brings a side “casual chic” . Besides, chambray Lightweight can have a dressy or casual look.

I'll let you discover them...
