The story of my 7-ply ties

A very special piece
I wanted to create a very special piece for me memory of my grandmother .
Facing his success , I have never stopped making them since.
For what ?
Because they are rare and very hard to find and require very specific know-how.
And I like to do what no one else does.
7-fold ties ask for a real traditional know-how .
Today, there are only about ten of us left in the world who still do them.
And that really motivated me.
Like many of my pieces I like to offer which is no longer done , or almost...
My 7-ply ties bridge the gap between traditional manufacturing and a contemporary fabric assembly .
You will notice that I did not hesitate to add small sartorial details like the loop comfort thread Or saddle stitch sewing .
I just wanted to make a little wink At manual work of saddlers in leather goods by making this type of seams.
To do this, we use two needles fixed on the ends of the same thread that we pass alternately above and below at each point. On our ties, the stitches are every 2 to 3 mm.
What is the saddle stitch used for?
Put a little touch of color , embellish the product , make it unique. I love details that are not noticeable at first glance.
When the accessory becomes essential.
Besides, I already told you that I like to say that “elegance is what you can’t see.”
A complex and hidden work
The wearer knows he has a work of art around his neck, but others do not notice it.
At first glance, it looks like a normal tie... Turning it over reveals this work of perfection.
That's what I find exciting.
To make a 7-ply tie , we use 2 times more material and we put 2 times more time that for the realization of a regular tie (3 folds) .
So it's a tie very greedy both in terms of matter and of manufacturing time .
So it is normal that she has a higher cost to a 3-ply tie .
The saddle stitch ending with a travetto (closing reinforcement) and the looped ease thread , so that the fabric take back his place after the port.
